I’ve been expected you Miss Smith, for Dinner

26 Oct

Hi Mediadreamzers

As promised I said I would tell you about my very exciting and wonderful news. My day wasn’t anything special, but the evening was worth the wait. Having gotten changed, it was a case of driving to the place I call my second home, well maybe an extension of that is the Pinewood Hotel.

Why? Answer to attend a dinner and music event in honor of the Bond franchise. The event was called Q the Music, a night listening to and appreciating the music composed and played for the James Bond films. Although I had to work in the morning, the event definitely got me through my shift, and I admit I nearly missed the dinner because of being stuck at three congestion points on the M1, 2 breakdowns and an accident, but I didn’t give up and I made it. Once I got in I was greeted by a group of other James Bond enthusiasts have the privilege of trying meals that have featured in the Bond films; it was a three course dinner. For me stater was Salmon, Watercress and creme Fraiche from Tomorrow Never Dies, Main Chicken Supreme, potato rosti and red wine jus from Casino Royale and Desert Chocolate Torte with Hazelnut cream (normally I don’t eat sweets, but it was amazing). It was great catching up with people I have met before and those I have worked with as it has been ages. One thing I also did that I have never done before was try a cigar and my initial thoughts were that it was not bad. Once dinner was over the room was transformed into a venue for enjoying the Q the Music team; there were two singers and I have to say that some of the theme songs they song were way better than what some of the artists have produced over the years (not wanting to name names but you can probably guess). In between the music there was Terry Bamber’s stand up comedy and commentary on the facts about the various Bond films, songs and his and his dad’s experience in the film industry. Both witty and interesting. I couldn’t believe how quickly the night had come to an end, and I had the honor of meeting so many great people and catching up with others I had met and have known for a longtime. It was so good that I got back at 2.15am and was still wide awake from all the excitement.

The night was one I will not be forgetting in a hurry and it is also a pre treat for me considering I will be where most of the world’s media will be tomorrow night, the capital for a mind-blowing event. I hope you have all guessed correctly. You will see anyway, especially me all dressed for the nights fun.

Here is my score for the whole night

Two weeks Work

28 Aug

Hi all that follow my blog, and those that stumble upon it

I have spent these last two weeks going back and forth to a production office, helping work on a programme as a locations assistant/ office runner. I cannot tell you the name of the programme only that it is shown on C4, sorry for being vague but official secrets act and all.

I have been covering for the current runner whilst she was away on holiday and met her this week (which was my final week) and she is both very nice and very tanned from where she has been on her hols. The rest of the production team were brilliant, they all made me feel very welcome and part of the team itself. My production manager was a real gem looking after me and offering me the two weeks slot that needed covering.

I decided on my last day to take in a hand made thank you card, and as we ended up talking about cake one day I decided to take one in; Black Forest Gateau, and as an added treat different types of sprinkles so everyone could jazz up their slices and make them look pretty.

One thing I nearly forgot to mention is that I have recently been taken on and completed my registration links with different extras agencies I figured that whilst production crew is and would be quiet in the near future to keep busy and gain experience as an extra. I also through an dare/ out of my mind experience contacted a modeling agency who invited me for a ‘GO-SEE’ appointment and after 20 minutes to a days discussion said to me there and then that they wanted to offer me representation for a year. Whether it was flattery or not they said to me that I would be ideal for modeling and appearing in feature films and commercials so after weighing up the options I have decided to sign with them as it is another avenue for gaining work, experience and even work experience.

Once the bank holiday is out of the way and I have completed everything I need to do my upcoming plans and work can be put in motion. I hope my posts do not sound self-centred, or very big headed in anyway if they do please feel free to say and I will change my style of writing, or rather typing.

Have a happy bank holiday if you are in the UK, if not have a great to all who read.

Oh, I get so nervous at these award ceremonies. Well I’m not sure if I have won anything, yet, but it certainly was a nice surprise.

A few days ago I received an email comment from tukusigal (http://www.kyushujapan.com) nominating me for the Liebster Awards, so want to say thank you for the nomination.

For those of you who don’t know Tuksigal is a Japanese who moved to the USA who blogs about her home country; Kyushu.

Now that I have had a break from filming on various productions here are the things you need to know.

11 FACTS ABOUT ME

  • The last time I went on a plane was when I was 17
  • I have a love for old school comedies such as ‘The Two Ronnies’, ‘Morecambe and Wise’ etc
  • One of my pet peeves is people clicking their fingers when bending them backwards, although I have others thats my main one
  • My uncle Jack, on my Dad’s side of the family knew Vidal Sassoon when he first started out, with a comb and razor (Great man, shame he is no longer with us)
  • I am addicted to Jamaican Sweet potatoes both White and Purple skinned

And now here are answers to the questions that I have been posed.

What is your favorite pastime activities?

Playing sports and going to the gym, I get my best ideas when on the cross trainer, rowing machine and when out walking. Though I want to unwind then I read a good book

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Depends on my week; I am mainly a morning person, as I am the type of person that likes to do something productive during the day,  don’t waste time you could use wisely. However, if I am working on a production then I must be a night owl.

What food do you like?

I love fruit and veg, and eat it practically everyday

What holiday do you like the best?

If we are talking calendar holiday then it is Halloween, as it is a night where people can dress up and have fun (plus its my birthday the next day).

Which season do you like the best?

Summer is a great season where everyone can enjoy the sun, ice cream and encourages others to holiday in the UK and for people to have family days out. Autumn is my favourite especially when the leaves change colour and your surrounded by reds, oranges, yellows and golden browns.

Do you get along with all your family members?

Most of my family I do, though I have the odd squabble with my sister.

If you can have another life, what would you want to be?

I would love to have been a fashion designer as it would give me a chance to show a flare of creativity and imagination with ideas and designs.

If you are a man, do you like voluptuous and short women or slender and tall women?  If you are a woman, do you like muscular and short men or slender and tall men?

Slender and Tall men are my cup of tea, as I am a short person, means I can wear high heels and look pretty

When was your first love?

At primary school I had a huge crush on a boy called Brian and I loved him for years.

Which type of movies would you like the best, comedy, action, romantic, documentary, SciFi, or something else?

When it comes to films I am eclectic I love a mixture of film styles and genres, and as long as the story makes sense and isn’t far-fetched then I love it.

What kind of music do you like?

Dance/ club music as it gets me in the mood to dance. Though I do enjoy movie music, pop and some rock old school music from say like ABBA, Queen etc.

Any singers you like?

Psy, Daft Punk, Jessie J, David Guetta, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Lady Gaga there are tonnes more just can’t think of anymore at present.

Whilst I am posting I will add that I maybe helping out on a pilot episode of a series being shot in the Midlands and possibly other projects from now till December, so keep eyes peeled and mouse finger at the ready for Googling mediadreamz, happy reading and enjoy. My next objective is to nominate 11 other blogs, when I have a chance to sit and breathe again I will do so. Before signing off I wish to thank tukusigal  for nominating me, I really appreciate you doing that.

Before signing off I want to nominate at least one blog, as I have been nominated. I will nominate more blogs soon.
