Hey my lovely mediadreamzers
Thank you again to my new followers on my journey to progress in the Media Industry, with work, networking and additional activities.
Last week was interesting as there was a Celebrity Media charity event; The Big Care Sign up, which was on 19th April. This was in aid of raising money and awareness for the Care Centre in Rutland and Leicestershire. Many avid fans of Star Wars, James Bond and Dr Who attended and what a day it was, especially as many who attended were dressed as their idols and favourite characters from the films and TV series. Who were the famous faces that attended the event, answer; Carole Ashby (James Bond), Martine Beswick (James Bond), Nathalie Cox (Star Wars), Matthew Dale (Doctor Who), Virgina Hay (Farscape), John Levene (Doctor Who) and finally Caroline Munro (James Bond). There was also and auction of some really cool items and the beauty is there will be another event coming soon, when I don’t know but I am keeping my ears to the ground. I also thought it really cool that my friend Ian had built a replica of the Tardis and had bought it to the event and from the construction of it it looks like he has put a tonne of time and effort into creating a masterpiece, maybe he should try to build a Darlek next. Now I have shared the delights of an interesting weekend now a summary of my week;
What a full week I have had, Monday was an induction and learning the areas I can gain experience and work in in the foreseeable future, in Media. I confess that I did show off a bit during the induction as the guy delivering the topics kept asking questions about the company and looking directly at me. Luckily I had read up on everything for my interview, I’m just surprised to have remembered everything. So good sound advice for everyone going for interviews read everything, make notes so you can really impress. I am gonna see what other areas I can work shadow and progress forward with, I’m liking graphics and camerawork, and working in the field with SIS LIVE. I did get a surprise during the week; a box of expensive Swiss chocolates from one of the producers at SIS for completing a job for him in neck breaking time. It was a surprise to receive, and made my Thursday more enjoyable. Friday a day for excelling; using equipment I have very little experience in now I have the knowledge of a pro.
I can’t believe my first month is nearly over and I receive feedback on what my production manager has to offer about my chapter and work ethnic.
